Lindauer was proud to partner with Stony Brook University and the Stony Brook Foundation in its search for a Vice President for Advancement and Executive Director. Justin Fincher, PhD, will report directly to Stony Brook University President Maurie McInnis and serve as a member of her senior leadership team. Fincher will be responsible for the development and alumni relations operations of the University, as well as serving as Executive Director of the private nonprofit Foundation.
Fincher, who assumes the position on August 23, had previously served as Vice President for Advancement at Ohio State University (OSU). In that capacity, he led the successful conclusion of a $3 billion campaign and the launch of OSU’s current $4.5 billion campaign as well as managing a team of 125. An active volunteer leader of the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education (CASE), he also developed and leads the Advancement Leadership Lab, a joint venture of nine public research universities to accelerate the growth of senior leadership in their advancement organizations. Fincher, who holds degrees from Rutgers University and the University of Maryland, has previously held leadership positions at Rutgers and John Hopkins University.
The Stony Brook Foundation is a private nonprofit that has raised nearly $1 billion thus far to support the goals and strategic plan of this world-class public university.
