Lindauer was proud to partner with Oglethorpe University in its search for a Vice President for Marketing and Communications. Congratulations to Lance Wallace on his appointment, effective September 14, 2022.
Following a national search, Oglethorpe University President Nick Ladany has named Lance Wallace as Vice President for Marketing and Communications. Wallace joins the university’s senior administrative leadership team on September 14, 2022.
“Lance Wallace brings significant experience and impressive expertise in marketing and communications,” said President Ladany. “He will be instrumental in demonstrating that Oglethorpe University is a national model liberal arts university.”
Wallace has served as associate vice chancellor for communications of the University System of Georgia since September 2019. He also served a five-month term as interim associate vice chancellor for communications in the fall of 2018.
Previously, he was director of media relations and issues management for the Georgia Institute of Technology, functioning as the Institute’s primary spokesperson. He joined the Institute Communications staff after three years as senior director of communications at the Georgia Tech Research Institute.
Prior to Georgia Tech, Wallace served 10 years as director of communications at the national faith-based nonprofit, the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship, based in Atlanta. He began working in higher education in 1999 at Mercer University, where he was the university spokesperson and led the media relations program. He also spent 11 years in newspaper journalism working at papers in Florida and Georgia.
Wallace earned an MBA with a concentration in marketing from Mercer University and a bachelor’s degree in journalism and political science from Troy University.
