Since 1965, The Nature Conservancy’s Mississippi Chapter has worked to conserve the lands and waters across Mississippi that provide a sense of place and connection to the state’s great outdoors. During this time, the chapter has played a key role in protecting and restoring over 150,000 acres across some of Mississippi’s most iconic landscapes, while also increasing the state’s public recreational opportunities by establishing a total of 13 Wildlife Management Areas and National Wildlife Refuges.
