Founded in 2011 by award-winning author, lawyer, and journalist Amy Bach, Measures for Justice (MFJ) is a non-partisan nonprofit that works to make criminal justice data transparent for system reform. The organization was founded with dual aims of identifying trends and patterns that are otherwise invisible and grounding criminal justice policy in fact.
By making county-level criminal justice data from across the United States easier to get, easier to understand, and easier to use, MFJ is resolute in its commitment to deliver the necessary data to foster better decision-making and enable communities to hold their criminal justice systems more accountable. Today, Measures for Justice is leading a movement to change the future of criminal justice by developing data tools that help communities reshape how the system works.
