In a strategic move to enhance the breadth of its mission, Impact Water recently shifted from a social enterprise model to a nonprofit organization, reaching a larger audience and aligning with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

The Opportunity

To support its transition to a philanthropic funding model that will expand its reach and deepen its impact, Impact Water is seeking a Chief Advancement Officer (CAO). The CAO will be instrumental in diversifying funding to scale operations, with targets to reach 40 million children by 2025 and 100 million by 2030.

Reporting directly to the Executive Director and Board Chair and working with a high-energy, global team based in the United States, Uganda, Kenya, and Nigeria, the CAO will develop and implement a comprehensive external funding strategic plan to fuel Impact Water’s growth. This plan encompasses philanthropy, communications, external affairs, and outreach to various stakeholders, including individual donors, high-net-worth investors, foundations, corporations, and multilateral agencies.

The position is ideal for a candidate with a sincere commitment to Impact Water’s mission, coupled with a proven track record of successful philanthropic fundraising and the ability to build and manage effective teams, all while upholding the organization’s values of integrity and transparency. With a focus on relationship management, the CAO will identify, engage, and build relationships with major prospects, overseeing donor identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship. Additionally, the CAO will lead the growth of the development team needed to achieve Impact Water’s strategic goals.

The salary range for this position is $200,000 – $250,000 commensurate with experience.
