St. Benedict’s Preparatory School, founded by the Benedictine Monks in 1868, has a rich history of educating and empowering students from diverse backgrounds. Over its 156-year history, the school has evolved from serving the children of German and Irish immigrants to embracing a multi-ethnic student body that reflects a broad range of socioeconomic and faith backgrounds.

The school’s emphasis on community, student leadership, mental and emotional wellness, and experiential education has situated St. Benedict’s as a national model of education. Today, St. Benedict’s serves nearly 1,000 students, primarily of African American and Latino heritage, in K–12, offering elementary, middle, and single-sex boys and girls prep divisions.

The Opportunity

As St. Benedict’s embarks on an ambitious comprehensive campaign, it seeks to strengthen and expand its Advancement team with professionals who are passionate about supporting a mission of equitable education and student-led learning.

The Senior Director of Advancement is vital to helping St. Benedict’s imagine and achieve a new level of impact for low-income families. To serve this critical function, the Senior Director will oversee and provide strategic direction for the fundraising program, leading and inspiring a team of five gift officers. The Senior Director will also manage a portfolio of high-capacity donors capable of making six- and seven-figure gifts in support of the St. Benedict’s mission.

As a member of a growing team and a leader in ensuring its success, the Senior Director of Advancement will embody this ethos of listening and leading. Reporting directly to the Chief Advancement Officer, the Senior Director will play a crucial role in shaping the future of the school’s fundraising strategy and anticipated endowment campaign.
