The Asian American Foundation (TAAF) is a convener, incubator, and investor dedicated to accelerating opportunity and prosperity for Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) communities. TAAF was founded in response to rising anti-Asian hate and violence, addressing a longstanding history of underinvestment in the AAPI population. Serving as a catalyst for change, the organization strives to create a more inclusive and equitable America, free from discrimination and violence, where opportunities are accessible to all.
TAAF works through a powerful combination of advocacy, investment, and innovation, focusing on initiatives that combat hate, foster education, shift narratives, and build representation. Through strategic partnerships, TAAF supports organizations and leaders working to deliver long-term, systemic change. This work underscores a profound commitment to empowering the 23 million AAPI individuals across the United States.
The Opportunity
TAAF is seeking its inaugural Senior Director of Development (SDD) to build and execute a comprehensive strategy that advances the organization’s ambitious goals. In this pivotal role, the SDD will leverage TAAF’s early successes, including its remarkable $165 million raised at inception, and chart the path forward for a $200 million campaign set to conclude by 2026.
Reporting to the Chief Partnerships Officer, the SDD will manage a portfolio of 100-150 high-net-worth donors while identifying new opportunities for transformational investments.
Ideal candidates will bring a proven track record in securing seven-figure gifts, a deep understanding of fundraising in dynamic and mission-driven settings, and the vision to inspire long-term support.
This role represents a unique opportunity to directly impact equity and belonging for the AAPI community while contributing to TAAF’s legacy of innovation and empowerment.
