The Opportunity

Colby College is seeking an innovative, strategic, and collaborative leader for the role of Associate Vice President, Financial Planning and Budget (AVP). Joining at a pivotal moment in Colby’s ambitious growth plan for the next five years, the AVP will work closely with the finance team and other senior leaders in developing and managing the College’s institutional budget and cash management processes.

Working with the CFO, the AVP will be instrumental in developing adaptable and rigorous financial frameworks that support both bold investment strategies and the flexibility to adjust as circumstances warrant. This involves balancing Colby’s strong financial standing with the key risks associated with growth, accounting for the needs of existing programs, and leveraging a thorough knowledge of the trends facing higher education.

The AVP will administer the College’s $300 million annual budget, working with university leaders on budgets and strategies and ensuring that the financial structure supports institutional priorities.

This is a unique opportunity to help shape Colby’s financial future through rigorous planning, innovation, and leadership.
