Founded in 1925 by Saint Katharine Drexel and the Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament, Xavier University, America’s only historically Black and Catholic university, is located in the heart of historic downtown New Orleans in a quiet neighborhood dotted with bungalows. As one of the leading historically Black colleges and universities in the country, Xavier continues to promote a more just and humane society by preparing its students to assume roles of leadership and service in a global society.
The Opportunity
As Xavier prepares for the launch of its Centennial Campaign, the University seeks an experienced Associate Vice President for Advancement and Campaign Programming. The AVP will be responsible for campaign strategy at the highest level as well as maintaining collaborative relationships with board members, volunteers, faculty, and staff. This position will also actively be assisting with major gift prospects, including solicitations as appropriate. Reporting to the Vice President of University Advancement, the AVP will be an inspirational and strategic leader and a key liaison to the President, Provost, and other members of the Xavier community during a campaign that will shape the face of the University for years to come.
An ability to mentor, motivate, inspire, and support an experienced team of fundraisers will be an essential part of this role as the University looks to maintain and grow its robust and successful fundraising operation
