The Opportunity
William & Mary seeks an Associate Vice President (AVP) for Public Safety to lead the University in fostering an inclusive, innovative, and collaborative culture of campus safety. This newly structured role reflects W&M’s commitment to a comprehensive and proactive approach to public safety that serves the diverse needs of its students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
Reporting to the Senior Vice President for Student Affairs and Public Safety, the AVP will oversee key areas including violence prevention, risk mitigation, crisis management, behavioral threat assessment, and the police department. With a strategic focus on community partnership and service, the AVP will lead efforts to promote safety, accountability, and well-being across campus.
