Supported by a robust organizational structure, including a 21-member Board of Directors, a dedicated staff of 50, and led by an inspiring and transformative CEO, HGSF has an annual operating budget of $25 million. Its Executive Leadership Team oversees key functions such as construction, real estate, homeowner development, fund development, and communications. Now more than ever, HGSF is poised to expand its impact, with a visionary goal to build 300 new affordable homes in the region over the next decade.
The Opportunity
Habitat for Humanity Greater San Francisco seeks an accomplished Chief Development Officer (CDO) to lead its fundraising and communications efforts during a transformative period. With $78.5 million already secured toward a $100 million comprehensive campaign, the incoming CDO will play a critical role in raising the remaining funds by 2027.
Partnering closely with the CEO and Board of Directors, this individual will develop and implement innovative strategies to ensure HGSF can double its impact, enabling the organization to meet its ambitious goals in the present and the future.
With a focus on advancing HGSF’s mission, the CDO will champion a culture of philanthropy, mentor a high-functioning team, and foster cross-departmental collaboration to achieve sustainable growth and lasting impact.
This role is an opportunity for a development leader to bring their expertise in major gifts, campaigns, and donor stewardship to an organization that is addressing the affordable housing crisis in the San Francisco area. The ideal candidate will be a visionary leader with a demonstrated ability to cultivate meaningful donor relationships and inspire internal and external stakeholders.
