The Greater Los Angeles Area Council – Boy Scouts of America is one of the country’s strongest nonprofit organizations serving children and youth. It is a volunteer-led organization with a committed and dedicated volunteer base that has extensive depth and knowledge of all aspects of Scouting. The Council empowers young people to live confident, capable, complete, and compassionate lives through dynamic leadership opportunities and fun outdoor adventures. Serving roughly half of Los Angeles County, the Council is the leading provider of the most rewarding, positive, exciting, and safe youth leadership and outdoor experiences in Southern California.

The Opportunity

The Council seeks an entrepreneurial, innovative, strategic, and high-energy professional to be appointed as Chief Executive Officer and Scout Executive.  The CEO will work with the Executive Board to grow programs and revenues so that it can serve Los Angeles area children and youth. Reporting to the highly engaged, active, and committed Executive Board, the CEO will provide direction to all the operations and administration of the Council. The CEO is responsible for membership, growth management, fiscal stability, and volunteer and community relationships for the Council’s program and service units.

While the preference is for an experienced nonprofit leader who has led organization programs and who has deep experience in the Los Angeles philanthropic community, the Council will also consider candidates from the private sector who are genuine and sincere in seeking a new career path with a mission-driven organization.
