The Robert A. Winn Excellence in Clinical Trials Awards Program is a groundbreaking initiative dedicated to transforming the clinical research landscape by improving diversity and community participation in clinical trials. Established by the Bristol Myers Squibb Foundation in 2020, the program empowers the next generation of clinical trial investigators and medical professionals through its Career Development Award (Winn CDA) and Clinical Investigator Pathway Program (Winn CIPP). These initiatives cultivate a diverse pipeline of researchers committed to equity in clinical trials, bridging gaps in access, and ultimately driving better health outcomes for all communities.
Through strategic partnerships, mentorship, and innovative training, the Winn Awards Program is redefining what inclusive clinical research looks like. By supporting emerging physician-investigators and medical students from underrepresented backgrounds, the program is ensuring that clinical trials are designed with and for the communities they serve.
