The Center’s strategic vision is ambitious: by 2030, it aims for half of the world’s population to live under stronger legal protections for reproductive rights. With a dedicated team of over 230 professionals and an operating budget exceeding $60 million, bolstered by $22 million in donated legal services, the Center continues to drive forward its mission to ensure every person can make reproductive decisions freely and without discrimination.

The Opportunity

The Director of Major Gifts – Western Region is a pivotal role focused on leading major gifts fundraising efforts in the Western United States. This remote position, preferably based in Los Angeles or San Francisco, requires a seasoned fundraiser adept at managing a team and strategizing donor engagements.

Reporting to the Senior Director of Leadership Giving, the Director will set and achieve annual regional fundraising goals, oversee a team of Major Gift Officers and an Associate, and personally manage a portfolio of high-value donors capable of six- and seven-figure contributions. Collaboration with the Director of Major Gifts – Eastern Region will be essential to maintain cohesive and effective fundraising practices across the organization.

The ideal candidate for this role will bring 15-20 years of frontline fundraising experience, a proven track record with high net-worth individuals, and strong leadership skills. The Director will not only engage in fundraising but also play a key role in developing and mentoring the Major Gifts team, planning regional events, and building robust relationships with various internal teams to support major donor engagement.

The salary range for this position is $180,000 to $200,000.
