The Opportunity
Howard University seeks an accomplished leader to serve as Executive Director of Development, Health Sciences within the Development and Alumni Relations team. This vital role offers a unique opportunity to advance Howard’s mission by cultivating philanthropic support for the College of Medicine, College of Dentistry, College of Pharmacy, and School of Nursing.
The Executive Director will be responsible for leading fundraising efforts that align with Howard’s priority to transform healthcare education for underserved communities and address health inequities nationwide.
Reporting to the AVP of Individual Giving, the Executive Director will work closely with Deans and academic leaders to identify, prioritize, and develop funding opportunities. Managing a small team of development professionals, the Executive Director will leverage their expertise to secure major gifts from alumni, donors, and friends of the University, ensuring a sustainable foundation for health sciences programs.
This role calls for a visionary approach to complex funding strategies, a deep understanding of health sciences development, and the capacity to lead transformative giving initiatives that impact both Howard and the broader community.
The salary range for this position is $160,000 – $180,000.
