Cranbrook Educational Community (CEC) is one of the world’s leading institutions in art, design, science, and education. Founded in 1904 by Detroit philanthropists George and Ellen Scripps Booth, CEC encompasses a vibrant array of cultural and educational programs, including a graduate Academy of Art, a contemporary Art Museum, the Institute of Science, and a pre-K through 12 college preparatory school, Cranbrook Schools.
Cranbrook Schools prepare students to thrive in a complex world, nurturing their intellectual curiosity, creative expression, and personal well-being. CEC’s upcoming comprehensive campaign offers a unique opportunity to further elevate the institution’s mission and expand its impact on future generations.
The Opportunity
To support this significant initiative, CEC seeks an experienced and passionate Major Gifts Officer (MGO) to join the Advancement team for Cranbrook Schools, one of the five institutions that make up CEC. The MGO will be instrumental in securing major philanthropic contributions from individuals and family foundations, directly impacting the Schools’ ability to enhance educational programs, support faculty excellence, and provide scholarships to deserving students.
The MGO will manage a portfolio of approximately 150 donors and prospects, engaging them in meaningful ways to inspire significant investments in the Schools’ mission. Reporting to the Director of Advancement for Cranbrook Schools and collaborating closely with the larger CEC major gifts team, the MGO will play a critical role in the success of the campaign and the continued growth of the Advancement department.
This is a unique opportunity for a seasoned development professional to shape the future of Cranbrook Schools.
