The Opportunity

The Senior Director of Advancement (SDOA) is a pivotal role focused on securing philanthropic support for the College’s scholarship, research, and community impact initiatives. This high-profile position involves managing relationships with major and principal gift-level donors and fostering long-term partnerships with alumni, faculty, administrators, and external entities such as foundations and corporations.

Reporting to the Senior Executive Director of Advancement for University of Utah Health and secondarily to the Dean of the College of Pharmacy, the SDOA will collaborate closely with various internal and external stakeholders. Key responsibilities include identifying and cultivating high-capacity donors, coordinating fundraising campaigns, and ensuring the alignment of donor interests with the College’s mission.

In partnership with the SEDOA and Dean, along with U of U Health internal and external partners, the SDOA will articulate and execute an annual advancement work plan in support of COP strategic priorities. They will also be responsible for maintaining comprehensive alumni and donor records, preparing proposals and stewardship materials, and ensuring accountability for fundraising metrics.
