Following the retirement of long-time leader Christopher Fay, Baldwin will continue the organization’s success and progress in providing life-changing services for homeless families in Virginia.
Homestretch, a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering homeless families and survivors of domestic violence to become self-sufficient, has announced the arrival of Barfonce Baldwin as its new Executive Director.
Baldwin has a wealth of experience leading successful nonprofit organizations with a focus on homelessness and domestic violence, including most recently serving as Regional Executive Director for the Tahirih Justice Center. She will build on the progress Homestretch achieved under the leadership of Christopher Fay, who led the organization for 17 years.
On the leadership transition, Homestretch Board President Kerry Morgan said, “Our gratitude for Christopher Fay’s service to Homestretch cannot be overstated. He has helped transform the lives of thousands of Northern Virginia families and has led the organization with heart, passion, dedication, and true selfless service to our community and Homestretch clients, graduates, and staff. We wish him all the best in retirement and look forward to continued success with Barfonce Baldwin leading the charge, bringing with her more than 15 years of closely aligned nonprofit experience in the Washington-metro area.”
