As South Kent School entered its 100th anniversary, Lindauer partnered with the school to find a leader who will drive the next phase of its remarkable history.
Brian D. Sullivan will become the 10th Head of School in South Kent School’s 100-year history. Sullivan succeeds Lawrence A. Smith after serving in several administrative roles for the school, including Class Dean and Assistant Dean of Students, Director of Admissions, Assistant Head of School, and Associate Head of School for External Affairs and Director of Development.
After beginning his career in wealth management and investments for Merrill Lynch and Charter Oak Financial, Sullivan transitioned into the world of education. He moved into the teaching ranks, building a career in the classroom at the Boston Collegiate Charter School, Millbury Junior/Senior High School, Berkshire School, and Kent School.
“Brian’s professional experiences in finance, the classroom, and school administration give him a unique understanding of what makes institutions and students successful,” said William Rowe, Chair of the South Kent School Board of Trustees. “In partnership with Lawrence, Brian has proven his commitment to a forward-thinking educational model that engages the whole student with an innovative curriculum that suits the next generation of learners. His appreciation for South Kent’s rich history, values, traditions, and community can only be matched by his understanding of the challenges, opportunities, and vision necessary to ensure success for the next 100 years.”
Brian D. Sullivan was appointed in May 2023. The search was led by Lindauer Vice President and Managing Partner Faith Montgomery.
