As it prepared to enter the public phase of its next campaign, H-SC partnered with Lindauer on an executive search that will prove vital to advancing its strategic priorities.
Following a search in partnership with Lindauer that yielded a pool of highly experienced advancement professionals from colleges and universities across the country, Hampden-Sydney College has announced the appointment of James Hugh Haskins as Vice President for College Advancement.
Haskins brings nearly 20 years of advancement experience and fundraising talent to this role, including expertise gained from working on a $1 billion capital campaign during his tenure at Clemson University.
In his most recent role as Assistant Vice President for Development at Hampden-Sydney, Haskins recruited and led a talented team of fundraising professionals. Major gifts secured by the H-SC Advancement team under Haskins’s leadership have contributed to the unprecedented fundraising success the College has had over each of the last five years.
Throughout his career, Haskins has demonstrated exceptional skills in building relationships, developing high-performing teams, and exceeding fundraising goals. His ability to collaborate with College leaders ensures that advancement strategies align with and support Hampden-Sydney’s priorities.
”Since returning to his alma mater from Clemson University, Hugh has brought energy and professionalism to Hampden-Sydney’s efforts to secure major gifts that support the College’s priorities,” sais President Larry Stimpert. “Hugh has helped recruit and motivate an outstanding team of fundraising professionals who are engaging with hundreds of alumni every year. With Hugh at the helm, the College’s fundraising potential will be unlimited.”
James Hugh Haskins was appointed in September 2024. The search was led by Lindauer Vice President Maureen Huminik, Senior Consultant Josh Maker, and Consultant Taylor Beard.
