Ronald McDonald House Charities of New England (RMHCNE) has announced the appointment of Lauren Hoops-Schmieg as its new Chief Executive Officer), effective May 6, 2024.
With over 25 years of dedicated experience in the nonprofit sector, Hoops-Schmieg brings a wealth of knowledge and leadership to RMHCNE.
Prior to her role at RMHCNE, Hoops-Schmieg served as the Executive Director at Hill House in Boston for 11 transformative years. During her tenure, Ms. Hoops-Schmieg elevated Hill House’s financial stability, expanded programmatic offerings, and cultivated a stronger community base. Her extensive background also includes notable positions at organizations such as the Boys & Girls Clubs of Newport County, Reed Elsevier, and Wolters Kluwer.
As the newly appointed CEO of RMHCNE, Hoops-Schmieg will lead the organization in its mission to ensure access to life-saving healthcare for all children and provide unwavering support to their families. Collaborating closely with the board of directors, staff, volunteers, and community partners, Hoops-Schmieg is committed to upholding RMHCNE’s legacy of providing essential health services to families facing challenging times.

Lauren Hoops-Schmieg was appointed in April 2024. The search was led by Lindauer Vice President and Managing Director Maureen Huminik and Consultant Taylor Beard.
