A proven leader, Muhvic will helm a comprehensive advancement division as the University continues to invest in its fundraising and alumni relations program.
Following a national search in partnership with Lindauer, Southwestern University has announced the appointment of Marie Muhvic as Vice President for University Relations.
In this role, Muhvic will serve as a member of the senior cabinet and will steer the advancement division on an upward trajectory mirroring the forward momentum of one of the top national liberal arts universities in the United States.
“We are thrilled to welcome Marie Muhvic to the Southwestern University community,” said President Laura Skandera Trombley. “Her proven ability to cultivate meaningful connections and secure transformative gifts makes her an ideal fit for the role of Vice President for University Relations.”
Muhvic joins Southwestern from Drury University, where she played a pivotal role in achieving increased alumni giving participation, acquiring new major gift donors, and securing 63% of campaign commitments in a year and a half.
Muhvic started her fundraising career at the University of Tennessee, followed by key roles at Princeton University, Fairfield University, St. John’s University in New York, the University of Bridgeport, and Sacred Heart University.
Beginning her Southwestern tenure in February 2024, Muhvic will collaborate with President Trombley, faculty, staff, students, and alumni to further elevate the University’s commitment to philanthropy and academic excellence.
