Lindauer partnered with Penn to place Narasimhaiah in the inaugural role of Senior Associate Vice President, Capital Giving.
Following an extensive national search in partnership with Lindauer, the University of Pennsylvania announced that Roopashree Narasimhaiah will join the University’s Development and Alumni Relations (DAR) team as Senior Associate Vice President, Capital Giving.
In this newly created role, Narasimhaiah will lead an integrated group of fundraising units focused on principal and major gifts, international and parent fundraising, and gift planning. Working closely with Vice President of Development and Alumni Relations Jim Husson, Narasimhaiah will play a vital role in Penn’s efforts to extend its academic and societal mission in the world.
Narasimhaiah brings a set of competencies, values, and experiences that is uniquely suited to her new role. She will arrive at Penn from Yale University, where she oversees development and alumni affairs for the Yale School of Medicine (YSM) and is a key member of the University’s Alumni Affairs and Development leadership team.
As a strategic senior partner to the Deans of the Yale School of Medicine and the Yale School of Public Health (YSPH), Narasimhaiah’s work has led to impressive growth in YSM’s fundraising results, increasing fundraising by over 50% and raising nearly $1 billion dollars during the past five years.
Her efforts to translate opportunities in medicine and the sciences into compelling philanthropic priorities has resulted in some of Yale’s largest gifts, including a $100 million cancer research alliance—the largest corporate collaboration in Yale’s history, which enabled a unique multidisciplinary research program. Working collaboratively across the University, Narasimhaiah has catalyzed department and university-wide campaign strategies and interdisciplinary giving opportunities.
Narasimhaiah has worked with a diverse array of donors both nationally and internationally and brings an innovative, data-driven, and solution-focused approach to her work.
Roopashree Narasimhaiah was appointed in September 2023. The search was led by Lindauer Senior Executive Vice President Jill Lasman and Assistant Vice President Megan Abbett.
