Lindauer was proud to partner with the Scleroderma Foundation, a national nonprofit organization, in its search to fill the top-level position of CEO. Mary J. Wheatley, IOM, CAE, joins the Foundation as of July 1, 2021, succeeding Robert J. Riggs, who will be leaving the organization after 25 years.
Wheatley, a proven nonprofit executive with more than 15 years of experience in research administration and nonprofit management, comes to the Scleroderma Foundation having served as the executive director of the Rheumatology Research Foundation, a position she held since 2014. A driving force in helping RRF grow significantly in its mission to advance research and training to improve the health of people with rheumatic diseases, she also managed a portfolio of high-net-worth corporate and individual donor prospects as well as two successful fundraising campaigns raising more than $135 million. Wheatley, the recipient of the GSAE 2019 Skelton-Massey Award, had previously served in academic research and research administration at the University of Alabama, Birmingham, among other positions.
Based in Danvers, MA, the Scleroderma Foundation, with its network of 19 chapters and 160 support groups, is dedicated to serving the needs of the scleroderma community through philanthropic support of its three-fold mission: support, education, and research.
