Founded on the belief that color and good design play an important role in the quality of our daily lives, for the past 25 years, Publicolor has used a design-based program to aggressively address educational and socio-economic equity for New York City public school students.
Partnering with the lowest performing schools and students in the most underserved communities of New York City, Publicolor seeks out those students who are at the highest risk of not completing school, providing an eventual pathway to break out of the cycle of poverty. Working with students from ages 12 to 24, Publicolor’s unique applied learning model uses design thinking as a vehicle to academically engage and inspire low-performing students in struggling middle and high schools, empowering them to achieve success in school, college, career, and life.
