For 40 years, Criterion Child Enrichment has been dedicated to providing high-quality early childhood education and supporting families with young children. Since its founding, the agency has expanded from two programs in Milford and Framingham to 12 programs strategically located throughout Massachusetts. Each year, approximately 7,000 families benefit from the expertise of a highly qualified and dedicated staff of over 350 professionals.

Criterion Child Enrichment is a private, nonprofit organization specializing in developmentally appropriate programs and services for young children and their families. With a mission centered on supporting early childhood development and education, Criterion believes in the strength and capacity of families to promote children’s health and growth. The organization offers community-based developmental enrichment groups, childcare, early intervention, and newborn home-visiting programs. Deeply embedded in the communities it serves, Criterion actively collaborates with local early childhood provider networks, ensuring high-quality, comprehensive services tailored to the needs of diverse families.

The Opportunity

Criterion Child Enrichment seeks a visionary leader to serve as its next Executive Director. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director will oversee all aspects of the organization, ensuring continued excellence in programs while strategically positioning Criterion for long-term success.

This individual will be responsible for advancing the organization’s visibility, enhancing its impact, and fostering strong collaborations with state and community partners.

The Executive Director will lead a team of highly engaged Program Directors, providing guidance and oversight to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, develop innovative programs, and expand Criterion’s reach. This role requires a leader with deep expertise in early childhood services, a strategic mindset, and the operational acumen to manage finances, program administration, and professional credentialing.

The successful candidate will be a passionate advocate for early childhood education, with a demonstrated ability to inspire and motivate staff, collaborate with stakeholders, and drive meaningful impact for children and families across Massachusetts.
